Physical pain is one sensation that most, if not all, of us aren’t too keen on experiencing on a daily basis, unless of course you have certain masochistic tendencies. Whether through injuries, wounds, or internal body problems, physical pain can always be very unpleasant, not to mention debilitating. One particular internal problem that can really put you out of action is nerve pain, specifically, that of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest and widest single nerve fiber found in both humans and animals. This particular nerve runs from the lower back all the way down to the lower limbs. At the same time, pain associated with this nerve fiber is known as sciatica nerve pain.

Oftentimes called sciatica for short, it is a pain felt on the lower extremities, particularly the lower back or lumbar area, as a result of sciatic nerve irritation. In many cases, the pain may radiate down from the lower back to the buttocks, the thighs, and even areas below the knees.
